A male selection of ginkgo with a symmetrical conical form, turning broader with age. A nice yellow fall color. Selected by the Saratoga Horticulture Foundation in California, introduced in 1955.
Heat tolerance is the distinguishing characteristic of this Acer truncatum hybrid. Its foliage resembles that of Crimson King, but its form is more upright and compact. Thanks to the Acer truncatum parentage, it flourishes in the summer heat where few purple leafed plants will grow.
Now available in tree form, perfect for small landscapes or urban gardens. The enormous flower panicles are a blend of vanilla and strawberry, held upright on red stems. They emerge creamy white in mid-summer, change to pink and finally to strawberry red. New blooms give the plant a multicolored effect in late summer and early fall. This hybrid of Tilia cordata and Tilia mongolica was developed in Manitoba, Canada. It is hardier than Norlin linden and resistant to sunscald injury and leaf spot. An excellent boulevard tree, it has lovely exfoliating bark, golden buds and consistent fall color.

This handsome tree bears small pink flowers in spring before leaves appear. Later brown fruit pods form. This strain is grown from seed collected at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It does well in sun and part shade. Selected for hardiness by the University of Minnesota and introduced in1992.
This fast growing, golden barked willow has a wide spreading canopy and long, golden drooping branches. An extremely graceful tree, it prefers moist planting sites. To prevent dehydration and start buds to break on potted Niobe willow, the potted plants should be held in a greenhouse or a sheltered location until growth has started.
This fast-growing tree has few branches at an early age. Once branched, ascending limbs are gnarled and twisted. In June, 2" long, tube-like white flowers appear in 4-8" panicles. Fruit is a long persistent pod. Great for xeriscapes, it is very tolerant and adaptable.

This river bottom native also does well on upland soils. Resistant to bronze birch borer, it has nice yellow fall color, and attractive cinnamon-brown exfoliating bark for an interesting winter effect. Clumps have three or more stems.
This Norway maple selection is similar to 'Crimson King', but with a somewhat slower growth rate and what some consider slightly better color. A dense shade tree, it has a straight trunk with a well-shaped canopy. The glossy foliage is an excellent maroon, red all season.
The fastest growing species of American maple, this very hardy native combines graceful form, vigorous growth, and tolerance for a variety of extreme conditions. Foliage provides medium shade, and a nice ornamental effect from the silvery undersides of the leaves.
This vigorous selection of silver maple has a more upright, oval-rounded form than the species and bright foliage with attractive silvery underside. The fall color is golden yellow.
