An incredible colorful specimen for a sunny garden! Striking dark purple, maple-like foliage is thick and leathery and will not fade in color as it matures. Habit is nicely compact and dense. Dark, black-red glossy buds open to enormous deep scarlet red flowers, 8-9" across. Blooming for an extended period from mid-summer into early fall, it provides an eye-catching display that cannot be beat.
